Eleven Rivers strengthens the relationship between agriculture and academy

To strengthen the relationship between the agricultural sector and the academic sector and as part of the program of the 2017-2018 training program on Tuesday 03 July, a collaboration agreement was signed between the San Miguel University and Eleven Rivers.

What Eleven Rivers and San Miguel University intend with this alliance is to provide agricultural personnel with the benefit of the Masters offered by the University so that companies have qualified personnel for the functions they perform in their work areas.

With the signing of this agreement, the alliance between the University of San Miguel and Eleven Rivers Growers is tightened, where employees of both Eleven Rivers and Associates will receive scholarship benefits and important discounts to study academic and training programs at the University such as: High School, Bachelor, Executive Degree, Postgraduate, Doctorate, a language in the Cultural Center of Languages and Continuing Education. In addition, the agreement establishes the basis for the students of the University to carry out their professional practices and to have openness in the job market of companies. Eleven Rivers recognizes the great importance of training and continuous education; therefore, it is committed to the professionalization of technicians and agricultural personnel.

The representative of Eleven Rivers Board Directors Carlos Espinoza Pablos said that it seeks to promote capable professionals to overcome the new challenges facing agricultural activity. He added that for the exporting horticultural agricultural sector it is constantly threatened by the issue of food safety and social responsibility that put them in a vulnerable position, in addition to the changes in the United States’ recovery in the North American Free Trade Agreement. He pointed out that this forces them to act with greater caution, aware of the commitment, since it participates in a highly competitive sector and full of new challenges, which will continue to demand new requirements that must be met.

It is worth mentioning that the main objective of signing the agreement between Eleven Rivers and San Miguel University is to promote the Master’s Degree in Food Safety and Agribusiness.
