Eleven Rivers visit the Regional Laboratory of Food Safety

On June 03, in a visit organized by the Commission for Research and Defense of Vegetables (CIDH) staff of Eleven Rivers in conjunction with technicians and producers of the agricultural enterprises of Sinaloa; made a visit to the Regional Laboratory of Food Safety (LARIA), located in San Pedro, Navolato, Sinaloa.

LARIA is a specialized unit in the performance of microbiological and chemical tests for the detection of contaminants that affect the safety of food.

The main services offered are:

  • Identification of the main microorganisms that affect the safety of food products (Salmonella Spp, Listeria monocytogenes, E. coli 157: H7, Shingella spp, vibrio cholerae, etc.)
  • Total Coliform bacteria, facultative coliforms and E. Coli by the NMP technique in water.
  • Determination of molds and yeasts in food.
  • Determination of pesticide residues in food.
  • Determination of metals in drinking water

The main purpose of this visit was to know the facilities of the Laboratory and the services that it offers for the horticultural companies of Sinaloa.
