APEAM Managers visit Eleven Rivers Growers Facilities

Last November 27, managers from the Association of Avocado Farmers and Packers – Exporters (APEAM, A.C. in Spanish) visited the Eleven Rivers Growers facilities, where our chairman Georgius Gotsis made a presentation on how our organization has worked in the last 10 years to improve food safety and social responsibility practices in farming companies across Sinaloa, which are part of the program.

This meeting was attended by the General Director, José Armando Lopez Orduña; Juan Rafael Elvira Quezada, APEAM Sustainability Consultant; Maria Isabel Larragoiti Suarez, Human Resources & Social Responsibility Manager, and Katia Aguilar – Food Safety Manager.

Other than the presentation of our Eleven Rivers Growers community, the APEAM held meetings with managers from certifying organizations in food safety: Scientific Certifications Systems and Primus Labs México.

Also, along with Eleven Rivers Growers Chairman, Mr. Antonio Jesús Beltrán Ochoa; a visit was carried out to Agrícola Belher, a certified company, where some of the company practices in Social Responsibility matters were displayed.

The APEAM, A.C. is the Association of Avocado Farmers and Packers – Exporters in Mexico. Founded in 1997, this private and nonprofit civil association, with legal capacity of its own, and comprised by avocado farmers and packers – exporters; it is also the sole Cooperating Partner recognized by the USDA and SAGARPA.

Internationally renowned and admired, the APEAM is the largest representative for Mexico in the field of avocado exports abroad. WE ARE ALL APEAM, and one of its main activities is promoting avocado consumption in the US, Canada, Japan, China, and the world.
