Eleven Rivers Growers participates in the meeting with farmers/presentation of AHIFORES’ 2.0 Certification

On August 2, the meeting with farmer members of the International Fruit and Vegetable Alliance to Promote Social Responsibility (AHIFORES, in Spanish) was held in Ensenada, Baja California, which had the participation of our Manager, Mr. Georgius Gotsis Fontes.

The purpose of this meeting was to make known the progress this alliance has had in elevating the standards in the implementation of good practices in the agriculture sector and in terms of social responsibility in Mexico. At these meetings, the aim is to obtain feedback by the various industry representatives on the activities being carried out, as well as feedback on the progress of each of the companies and crops they represent.

Within the context of this meeting, the presentation of the new image of version 2.0 of the Certification of Responsible Farming Company (CEAR) was presented, which confirms the continuous work for the welfare of farm workers and their families.

Version 2.0 of the Certification of Responsible Farming Company (CEAR) is homologated with the criteria of the code of ethics for practices of labor responsibility (ethical charter) and with the changes in the current legislation in Mexico, in Mexico in labor matters.

This certification was designed with a specific approach which responds to the needs of the sector and covers three main aspects:

• Social and labor welfare practices
• Infrastructure and services for workers and their families
• Environmental Protection

Ahifores is a unique alliance in Mexico which brings together a variety of players in the farming industry, with the purpose of consolidating efforts to generate actions that allow field workers to have a decent job option. This is an alliance that includes members from the horticultural product sector, strengthening the commitment of the group to work in benefit of promotion and implementation, to a domestic level, of programs which elevate social responsibility in companies in which they are members.

One of the services of Ahifores is a technical assistance program that provides counseling to implement actions which reinforce good social responsibility practices in the agricultural companies where that belong.
