The numerous players and operators in the fruit and vegetable sector and the dynamism of this industry make having a reliable platform the concentrates the supply and provides quick and effective solutions an essential tool. According to Sebastián Cuesta, CEO of the project, this is the idea behind Fruitobox, a new digital marketplace that connects producers, marketers, the auxiliary industry and transport and logistics in the same space.
“We came up with the idea for Fruitobox about a year ago. Just as in other sectors, there are specific platforms, but we had the feeling that the fruit and vegetable sector lacked a space that was not just a contact platform,” says Sebastián. “We then started to develop it, and about ten days ago, it became operational.”
Those interested in being part of this project can now register on the platform and start enjoying the services it offers. “We have 4 large groups differentiated within the platform,” says the CEO of Fruitobox. “Producers, marketers, transporters and those in the auxiliary industry have the option to search for products or contacts in our database, chat, check the updated market prices and learn about the new products and services being added through notifications,” he says.
“In addition to giving the user the option of making inquiries to pursue sales, Fruitobox offers the possibility of finding suppliers; something that can help reduce costs and maximize profit.” It can also lead to more competitiveness, as the services and prices of different companies doing the same activity are all accessible, he says.
In addition to benefiting from this tool, Fruitobox users play an active role in the project. “Fruitobox is a living product, continuously in development with improvements based on user requests,” says Sebastián.
“A complete service without commissions at a competitive price”
The development of this project and its launch have coincided with the spread of the pandemic and the rapid development of virtual spaces, such as Fruit Attaction LIVEConnect, which has even extended its service as a digital marketplace, to replace face-to-face meetings. “We’ve had to adapt and launch in a very different way than we originally planned,” says Sebastián.
“However, Fruitobox stands out by its ease, agility and dynamism, and it’s open to feedback from the users themselves. It also offers a very attractive price of between 69.90 and 99.90 Euro per month plus VAT, depending on the number of simultaneous connections on different devices contracted. Starting next month, we will include the option for users to announce specific news or the launch of new products through the blog attached to the platform and our social networks,” says Cuesta.
Currently, the platform has an introductory offer, whereby users who register before December 31 can enjoy its services for the first 60 days for free; “without any cost, permanence clause or cancellation fees. The platform is very simple and very quick. You just need to register and upload the information about your company and the products or services you offer. We also have a service to guide and help users within the platform,” he says. “We invite the users themselves to dive into the marketplace and contact the companies they are looking for directly, without any type of commissions for the operations carried out through it,” says Sebastián.
Fruitobox has participated as an exhibitor at Fruit Attraction Live Connect and will also be present in May at Fruit Logistica, in Berlin.
