On December 31, 2016 Quirino Ordaz Coppel was named constitutional governor of the state of Sinaloa where he announces as part of his cabinet for the period 2017-2021 to Juan Enrique Habermann Gastélum as Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Mr. Habermann is a grower with a lot of experience, currently is a member of the Board of Eleven Rivers Growers and has also directed several agricultural organizations: the Culiacan Farmer’s Association (AARC); The Commission for Research and Defense of Vegetables (CIDH); The Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES) and was president of the Regional Council for Economic Promotion, Central Zone of the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa (CODESIN).
We extend our appreciation and congratulations to Mr. Habermann for this appointment; we know he will have an excellent performance for the benefit of Agriculture.
Through an interview with the newspaper El Debate, Mr. Habermann announced that part of his work plan will be to improve the government support to the growers in the state. He acknowledged that both local and federal authorities must work together to find solutions to the current problems.
In his opinion, he said that the state should seek to return the profitability to agriculture and livestock; this is the main need for all the authorities to work.
