1st International Congress on Food Safety and Quality

 

From November the 16th and 18th was released the 1st International Congress on Food Safety and Quality at the Science Center of Sinaloa, in the City of Culiacán, organized by the National Association for Food Safety and Quality in Mexico, A.C. (ANICA), which had the participation of important and recognized experts on the subject.

During these three days of training, the attendees were able to participate in thematic and master lectures, round tables and visit the area of “Industrial Expo”.

Eleven Rivers joins the objective of ANICA to promote a culture of food safety and quality in our country; in this first edition of this congress we have a stand inside the “Industrial Expo” area where we demonstrate the relevance of our Certification Scheme, also, B.A. José Raymundo Elizalde- Eleven Rivers Director, participated with the Thematic conference “Evolution of the market requirements for fresh fruits and vegetables: Sinaloa”.

In this event participated several organisms, institutions, research centers, government agencies and private companies like: Eleven Rives Growers, AMHPAC, CIAD-Culiacán, COFEPRIS, CONACYT, INAPI, H. Ayuntamiento de Culiacán, Tecnológico Nacional de México, CANACINTRA, ITMAZ, CIIDIR-Guasave, NOREX, NewTecLab, Gestión Group, OCV, Universidad de San Miguel, Grupo Herdez, Aspelab, Sukarne y Productos Chata.

ANICA’s main objective is to promote in people a culture of safety and food quality, as well as healthy food like fundamental components for a quality of life, through the participation of researchers, industrialists, academics, and students directly or indirectly Related to food science and technology, and nutrition.

Also, during this 1st International Congress, the Food National award was given to PhD. Sanjaya Rajaram Devi, for his contributions to the agricultural development in Mexico. PhD. Rajaram has dedicated most part of his life to research and innovation; a reason why he is considered a great contributor to Food, worldwide. This award will be given annually to the researcher or entrepreneur that contributes to improve the level of Food safety in Mexico.

The national award “PhD. Carlos Karam Quiñones”, was also instituted for scientific research, and will be given to the researcher who increases the knowledge and capacity of resolving problems related to food safety in any  sector of the food value chain.
