Diconsa store opens in Agricola Chaparral.

 

During the month of January, the inauguration of a Diconsa community store in Agricola Chaparral was realized, located in El Diez field. The inaugural event was attended by the Secretary of Social Development, Luis Enrique Miranda Nava; The Governor of the State of Sinaloa Quirino Ordaz Coppel; The Mayor of Culiacan, Jesus Valdez Palazuelos and the owner of the Farm and current president of the Growers Association of Culiacan, A.C. Lic. Sergio Esquer Peiro.

The Diconsa community stores are part of a federal government program operated by the Secretariat of Social Development, the stores have the purpose to provide migrant agricultural workers with food of high nutritional value at fair prices, this store is the number 129 that operates in the state of Sinaloa and will provide high quality products to more than 400 habitants.

In his speech, Sergio Esquer Peiro emphasized the importance of having good agricultural practices to maintain the leadership of Sinaloa as the main food supplier of Mexico. It is important to align efforts to produce quality, healthy and safe foods, since the global trend points to markets where the consumer is turning to see not only the attributes of the product itself, but under what working conditions it was produced and if it’s respectful for the environment.

In the frame of this event, the Secretary for Social Development announced the construction of 60 community kitchens distributed in the 18 municipalities of the entity.
