Eleven Rivers Growers visits the PrimusLabs and Azzule Systems Mexico office

On October 16th, 2018 the Eleven Rivers Growers team made a visit to the offices of Primus Labs and Azzule Systems in Culiacán city. The reason for the visit was to know the services offered by the laboratory to the agri-food industry. In addition, Eleven Rivers Growers team had the opportunity to attend training on “Changes in FSMA regulation and new methods of water analysis”.

Currently PrimusLabs and Azzule consist of a group of highly qualified food safety professionals, who work diligently to meet the needs of food companies of all sizes throughout the supply chain. Food scientists, chemists, statistical microbiologists, data scientists, agriculture, legal experts, software professionals, information technology services, designers and graphic artists, come together to help national and custom companies to control compliance with the requirements of purchasers and government regulations, including the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and, in particular, the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) rule.

Microbiological Analysis

PrimusLabs utilizes current FDA, USDA, AOAC and NOM approved methodologies for its microbiological analysis. Some of the microbiological Analysis are:

FDA Import Detention Testing

PrimusLabs is an approved FDA sampling and testing lab for these samples.

Facility/Environmental

PrimusLabs offers a wide range of microbiological services including Total Plate Count, Total Coliform, FC, E. Coli, Listeria, Salmonella, E. Coli-157:H7, and Yeast & Mold analysis for determination of environmental cleanliness.

Water Sources

PrimusLabs offers certified water testing for Total Coliform and E.coli to determine water quality –this includes drinking water.

Final Product

PrimusLabs offers a comprehensive array of final product tests that include Total Plate Count, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform, E. Coli, Yeast and Mold and others for product quality.

Field Sampling

PrimusLabs offers trained field samplers to pull residue, microbiological and water samples in accordance to PrimusLabs’ in-house SOP and LGMA protocol.

Client Sampling Guidelines

PrimusLabs provides Client Sampling Guidelines to be used as a resource for our customers to help develop their own in house SOPs.

Shipment of Samples

PrimusLabs works very hard to insure quick and reliable sample shipment. Most sample shipments are sent out and received the next day or transported via our staff shuttle for same day service when needed.

Pesticide Residue Analysis

PrimusLabs utilizes current FDA PAM, EPA and AOAC methodologies for its pesticide analysis.

The PrimusLabs pesticide residue analysis program consists of four subgroups:

Certified

A “Certified” program is a pre-harvest sampling and analysis program in which PrimusLabs personnel collect a representative sample of the commodity from the field and maintain a strict chain of custody from the field to the laboratory for analysis. A product is “Certified” when it meets applicable government standards.

Inspected

The “Inspected” program is a post-harvest sampling and analysis program in which PrimusLabs personnel collect a representative sample from the loading dock, cooler or distribution center (again utilizing the chain of custody from the sample collection point to the laboratory).

Tested

A “Tested” program is available to any individual or firm concerned with possible pesticide residues that may be present on a specific shipment or commodity. A sample is provided to PrimusLabs by the client, analyzed and the results are then reported to the client.

FDA Import Detention

PrimusLabs is an approved FDA sampling and testing lab for these samples.

Audits

PrimusGFS is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked and fully recognized audit scheme covering both GAP and GMP scopes as well as food safety management systems (FSMS).

PrimusLabs contracts and relies on Azzule Systems to supply all their information system needs. With programmers and project managers based in the USA & Mexico this bilingual (English and Spanish) computer programming company provides.
