Our certified grower companies celebrates their Christmas party 2018

In December, the certified companies that participate in the Eleven Rivers Growers Certification Scheme had their traditional Christmas party for the children of the workers of the field and the packing.

These Chritmas parties are composed by the typical amenities like the Christmas dance, Pastorela, piñata, food, cake, and some gifts.

The Christmas parties are the typical celebrations that are celebrated 9 days before Christmas, from December 16 to 24. In Mexico, those celebrations includes hot punch, candy baskets, candles, flares and piñatas. Its origin is religious and represents the path traveled by Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem in which we ask for asylum for one night, the night in which Jesus was born.

The Christmas arrived in Mexico with the Spanish conquest and as you could imagine, they sought to supplant the traditions of the Aztecs, who celebrated during the month of the panquetzaliztili (December), the arrival of their main god and war, Huitzilopochtil.

These holidays begin on December 6 and last 20 days in which flags are placed on the fruit trees and banners in the main temple.
