Training Program: new professionals in the agricultural sector

As part of the actions in which Eleven Rivers tries to influence professionals involved with the agricultural sector, to get them closer to the new challenges faced by the industry in Sinaloa and globally, on February 17 of this year Edgar Ramirez Guerrero Eleven Rivers Growers shared with the students of the agribusiness master’s degree of the University of San Miguel in their Quality in Globalized Agri – Food Systems class the importance of implementing a “Quality management system in the agricultural industry”

In his speech Mr. Ramirez explained the importance that currently has for the agricultural industry to work with a management system, the costs and the benefits that represents for the companies to work under this system, the main quality systems for agricultural companies, trends of consumers and buyers in the fresh produce industry and the international quality agreements on which the management systems are based.

For this explanation, he based mainly on the content of Axis I: Process Quality System of the Certification Scheme of Eleven Rivers Growers, where practical examples exposed the areas where it is essential to have logs and manuals that allow the company work on a continuous improvement scheme, likewise explained the great importance of training and an efficient traceability system for agricultural companies.

The objective of Quality in Globalized Agri-Food Systems class is that students know the needs of the current agri-food system under a global scheme, as quality has become an axis of competition and is transforming the agricultural industry, modifying processes of production, transformation and consumption of food, which can become a barrier to entry for producers who are not able to achieve these standards.
