1º International Forum: From Production and Market to Social Environment

 

On February 22nd and 23rd the International Forum was held: From Production and Market to Social Environment – Vision of the next 10 years of the horticulture sector in Mexico, organized by the International Alliance of Fruits and Vegetables Producers for the Promotion of Social Responsibility (AHIFORES).

The objectives of the event were:

  • Give clarity about the true meaning of Labor Wellbeing in the sector.

  • To learn about the experience of International Associations and Organizations in the development and implementation of Occupational Well-being strategies.

  • Share public policies, programs, and government strategies from different agencies to support producers.

  • Listen to the perspective of the national and international commercial chains on new requirements of Labor Well-being.

  • Know the experience of other countries in the formulation and implementation of Agricultural Labor Laws.

  • To inform about new currents and experiences of Universities, NGOs and National and International Certification Entities.

  • Understand challenges, opportunities, and results in the implementation of Work Wellbeing programs, from the perspective of producers and field workers.

This event hoped to generate a space for communication and integration, as well as a movement that encourages horticultural companies, buyers, government, and society in general, to recognize the reality of the sector and join efforts to transform it.

AHIFORES is a non-profit association whose main purpose is to improve the well-being of rural workers, their families and the sector in general.

Eleven Rivers Growers is an active member of this organization since the beginning off it creation.
