Eleven Rivers participates in the Food Safety Forum 2015

 

On December 1st, 2015 the first Business Forum of Food Safety 2015 was inaugurated, With the presence of entrepreneurs, researchers, students, academics and exhibitors of national and international stature. Which also was attended by agricultural technicians involved in Eleven Rivers program.

The event was opened by the mayor Sergio Torres who said that the free of pollutants food production is an issue of vital importance to Culiacan Sinaloa and maintain the line of economic development that currently distinguishes us in Mexico and abroad.

Organized jointly by the city of Culiacan, the “Facultad de Estudios Internacionales de la UAS” and “Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo de Culiacán” (CIAD), as well as Eleven Rivers. This forum was a priority to discuss amendments to the regulations implemented in other regions of the world which imported food produced in this entity.

The exhibitors were Jaime Martinez Urtaza from the University of Bath, England who spoke about genomic tools to tracking pathogens in the environment and food; Luis Fernando Hernandez Lezama, Research, Science and Technology (ICT) who spoke on the national and international regulatory  framework on safety issues; also developed a panel of safety experts where participated; Yunuen Miranda, Program Manager of Agriculture (NSF International); Noelia Castro del Campo, of Research Center for Food and Development (CIAD) and Laura Dominguez Martha Mier from  Sukarne safety department.

During his speech, Diego Ley, General Director of “Del Campo” Agricultural and Associates, said Sinaloa has the ability to produce clean food, free of contaminating with quality enough to arrive at the most demanding markets; and he asserted that companies should follow closely the changes to the rules at the international level.

To end the event  the Dr. Christopher Cháidez Quiroz was awarded for his successful career and contribution to the state through its various scientific investigations.
