06.1 SAGARPA appsSAGARPA, through technology, makes an effort to approach the producer, by facilitating information, improving communication, shortening distances, providing useful and appropriate tools, and by decreasing theirs costs and improving their productivity.

In this way, with the use of technology, it pretends to be an institution with presence in the world of mobile applications to promote the work and the actions that are being accomplished by SAGARPA in benefit of the agricultural, livestock, fishing and aquaculture producers.

This effort allows to maintain an easy and accessible communication channel with producers, buyers and other involved institutions with SAGARPA procedures and other governmental organisms, creating this way interactive and reliable sources of information that generate values.

In order to accomplish this goals, they have joined efforts across the sector, among them with the Agrifood and Fisheries Information’s center (SIAP); which will allow to spread statistic, geographic and administrative information in an integrated way, accessing to a further data analysis and that this could create a higher value for the citizenship.

“SAGARPA MARKETS”

The main features from this app are:

  • It is promoted the use of technology by the producer, where by this means he can publish its products for sale with its characteristics, sale capacity, state of origin of the product, if it counts with certification, months of production for sale, among other options. Leaving their information available for consultation of the national and international buyers.

  • The producer could administrate its account; update the detail of their products in sale.

  • This application has its own Off line functionality, in other words, it will save in the memory of the mobile device the consultations made by the producer, leaving available for future consultation, without having enabled a data connexion; avoiding in this way that the use of the application generates an economic expense to the user.

  • This application counts now with: 498 Certified registered Producers in Mexico Supreme Quality, information of 2,000 registered buyers from the sector in the DENUE’s catalog of INEGI and it is expected to count with international buyers and to triplicate this numbers in the first year of life to facilitate the trade and development.

The main benefits expected with the development of this platform are: To have closeness with the producer, a type of bilateral communication when showing appropriate information to raise productivity, to count with a channel of communication where there is availability of information that generates the value to the producer, to facilitate contact of the buyers and sellers for the commercialization of the Mexican agrifood products, access to international markets, availability of information for localization of the costums services and eliminate borders between the producer and the buyer.

“SAGARPA PRODUCE”

The main characteristics of this app are:

  • To provide to the agents of the agrifood sector information to produce, distribute and commercialize their goods.

  • Which crops are appropriate to produce in the area of interest

  • How to produce taking as a reference the technology packages of the crops that have high productive potential

  • The establishments where to buy the supplies like: seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, etc. and the contact information, also, where they can commercialize their products like: supply centers, gathering centers, etc.

  • The location of the technical staff specialized that can advise him in the process of production to impulse productivity.

  • Producers prices of their interest to have a reference when they go to sell their commodity.

  • To locate SAGARPAS offices where they can perform procedures to request technical and/ or financial support to produce.

 The APP’S were developed for intelligent mobile devices with Android and iOS operative systems. These are completely free apps, for both, the download and installation, and contents thereof. But, they also have functionality integrated with SMS technology, thus including simple telephones with outdated technology can benefit. The use of them is addressed to the population that is related with activities of the agrifood’s, fisheries and livestock’s sector, in both, production and commercialization.
