Cofepris taught Sinaloa Growers: Sanitary Control of Fruits and Vegetables.

 

During the month of November, The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) in coordination with the Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the Sinaloa State (CAADES) and the Commission for Research and Defense of Vegetables held two talks of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Sanitary Control (Fresh or minimally processed) for Sinaloa Growers.

The first one took place on Wednesday November 16th at the facilities of Growers Association (AARFS) in Los Mochis city and the Second one, on Thursday November 7th at the Growers Association (AARC) in the city of Culiacán.

The main objective of this talks was to present to the participants, how COFEPRIS implements the sanitary control and surveillance of the establishments engaged in the packaging, conditioning, and marketing of fresh and / or minimally processed agricultural foods.

The themes addressed were the following:

  • COFEPRIS: Sanitary authority for the control of produce and services.
  • Sanitary Status of fresh and/or minimally processed foods.
  • Sanitary surveillance Process (Sanitary verification).
  • Process for the Sanitary surveillance (Sanitary recommendations)
  • Establishment Certification.
