Eleven Rivers signs a Cooperation Agreement with ANICA

 

On Wednesday October 12th, within the framework of the 3rd Seminar on Food Safety and Quality was signed a collaboration agreement between Eleven Rivers and the Asociación Nacional para la Inocuidad y Calidad Alimentaria en México (ANICA), which was signed by PhD. Juan Antonio Cortez Ruiz – National President of ANICA, Mr. Heriberto Vlaminck Seidel – President of Eleven Rivers Growers, Mr. Sergio Raul Esquer Peiro. – President of the Asociación de Agricultores del Río Culiacán and PhD. Christopher Chaidez Quiroz – President of ANICA’s Advisory Council 2015-2016.

The main objective of this agreement is to develop programs and / or projects of cooperation to promote cross-linking between: the academy, research and industry, to assist in the training of human resources related to the study, knowledge, science application and disciplines for food’s safety and quality.

To culturize regarding on Food Safety and Quality, as well as healthy eating as key components for a quality life, through the participation of researchers, industrialists, academics and directly or indirectly related to science, food technology and nutrition students. And by raising awareness to everyone involved in the food chain, from primary production, processing, distribution, marketing, to food consumption.

After the signing of the Agreement it was held the 3rd Seminar on Food Safety and Quality which was attended by agricultural technicians (participating in the certification program), institutions and students.

The assistants had the opportunity to listen to experts on the following topics:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices and Organizational Structure given by M.A. Karel Liov Beraud Martínez- Consultant
  • Evolution of market requirements for fresh fruit and vegetables given by BA. José Raymundo Elizalde Castelo-Eleven Rivers Growers Director
  • Bacteriophages as an alternative of foodborne pathogens control given by PhD. Noelia Castro del Campo
  • Safety Guarantees for companies’ processes, reliability and prevalence towards its consumers given by Josué Salvador Figueroa Torres – CIAJ
  • Presentation: National Association on Food Safety and Quality in Mexico (ANICA) by PhD. Juan Antonio Cortés Ruiz- National President of ANICA, A.C.

The signing of the agreement and the seminar took place at the Asociación de Agricultores del Río Culiacan facilities.
