Magistral Symposium: Food Safety

On July 17, the magistral Symposium: Food Safety was held at the University of San Miguel, where the Dr. Jorge Humberto Siller, who is the Director of Innovation, Health and Safety of the Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock of Sinaloa, participated as speaker. Also participated the Dr. Juan Garza, Former Director and Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Veterinary and Zootechnics of the UNAM and Dr. Luis Fernando Hernandez Lezama, Coordinator of the Council of Food and Healthy Habits of the Mexican Foundation for Health (FUNSALUD).

The topics of the symposium were: The concept and evolution of food safety, The regulatory environment, towards a science of regulation and determinants of health.

Today the University of San Miguel offers an educational offer the Master’s degree in Food Safety and Quality, which aims to promote greater profitability of companies by training trained professionals to make changes and transformations in the business approach of the agri-food sectors, agroindustrial and fishing mainly, implementing Food Safety, Quality and Safety Systems in accordance with national and international standards.
