Sergio Esquer recognizes the grower companies associated that have achieved the Eleven Rivers Certification

On March 17, 2018, in the framework of his second report of work in charge of the presidency of the Growers Association of Culiacan (AARC), Mr. Sergio Esquer Peiro mentioned the importance of the Eleven Rivers certification on Food Safety and Social Responsibility for the grower companies of Sinaloa, likewise, acknowledged the companies that are members of this association that have achieved the certification and those that participate in the program.

Mr. Esquer shared with the attendees the progress that has been made during these two years in his tenure as president in the operation of the association.

He expressed his concern about the challenges of world trade, such as the renegotiation of NAFTA and the new suspension agreement for tomatoes, where the AARC together with the National Agricultural Council (CNA), the Commission for the Research and Defense of Vegetables ( CIDH) of the Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES), the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture AC (AMHPAC) and other agencies at the national level have actively participated in defending the interests of Mexican producers.

He mentioned that part of their objectives as association, is actively support the members in the research of new markets. This is why we are gathering information in the research of new markets, particularly in grain markets, and this year the proposal is increment our activities in market development to other products.

He insisted on the importance of research, development and innovation. For which proposed work agenda, agreed and approved by producers, to align the link with universities and research centers. In this agenda should be the most important actions for Sinaloa producers.

He recalled that the preferences of the current consumer go beyond the well-presented and tasty products, now seek also the safety; social responsibility; and respect for the environment.

In this subject, he mentioned that there is a big potential to differentiate fresh produce of Sinaloa in the international markets.

To conclude Mr. Esquer invited attendees to trust themselves as growers; to trust the agricultural organizations and the state and federal officials from Sinaloa so that agriculture can be a more profitable activity.
