Eleven Rivers is the main collective effort to increase the competitiveness of Sinaloa growers.

On March 23, the second annual report was carried out by Ulises Robles Gámez, president of the Confederation of Agricultural Associations of Sinaloa (CAADES), as part of the achievements that CAADES has had he mentioned the Eleven Rivers program which is already the largest collective effort, to increase the commercial competitiveness of our horticultural products, increasing to 14 the number of certified companies and 20 that are in the process of implementation. Together, the producers participating in Eleven Rivers represent 55% of the export of vegetables from Sinaloa.

Ulises recognized the complex environment in which agricultural activity takes place, both in the horticultural and grain sector in Sinaloa, where he explained to the attendees the actions carried out by CAADES for the benefit of its members:

  • Trocadero CAADES served 250 groups of producers, handling 80,000 containers in the year. To generate new revenues for CAADES, a contract was signed with the company Vidimport, which uses the Trocadero facilities for the importation of fruit. Recently, investment was made in new infrastructure for the Trocadero to provide the SENASICA Inspection Point services to operate as an import inspection center for agricultural products.
  • The ExpoAgro Sinaloa 2017 was attended by 7 countries, 350 exhibitors, 30 thousand visitors and 550 business meetings with the support of SEDECO, AMHPAC and ProMéxico.
  • CAADES together with the National Agricultural Council (CAN) made arrangements to negotiate with the SAT the conservation and facilities of the fiscal needs of the sector.
  • In relation to contract farming schemes, 6,150 million tons were commercialized, almost all of the corn, sorghum and wheat crops.
  • He recognized the role that the Commission for the Investigation and Defense of Vegetables (CIDH) has played, a fundamental role in supporting these negotiations. Who, in conjunction with other associations and the government, work in the implementation of social responsibility programs in Mexico.

Robles Gámez stressed that the public policy governing agricultural activity, under the current circumstances is completely exceeded, so it is imperative to reorient this, taking into account the real situation that farmers and their families are living.

He made a call demanding those who will receive the great responsibility of directing the destinies of Mexico, assume within this great social pact the sensible and real commitment to meet this demand.

Ulises Robles convene to the farmers to keep the unit in the future. The unity that has meant the strength and confidence to face new challenges, for more than 85 years where CAADES has represented the interests and has meant a collective front for the defense of the agricultural sector of Sinaloa. That is the historical continuity of our common and shared project.

He also took the opportunity to thank the members of the Council and the Presidents of the 10 Farmers Associations for their willingness to listen and seek consensus in solving the challenges that this industry has faced.
