Conference of the new Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) given by Eleven Rivers.

The past October 15 the introductory conference to the new Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was given by Eleven Rivers staff at the“Asociación de Agricultores del Rio Fuerte Sur (AARFS)” in the city of Los Mochis. The objective was to raise awareness of the key points of the safety law that impact on companies whom wish to market their agricultural products in USA; The new Law has 5 key areas:

  1. Prevention.
  2. Inspection and Compliance.
  3. Response.
  4. imports Food Safety.
  5. Strengthening reviewers.

Besides FSMA, the main points of the Rule for Fruits and Vegetables  Safety  were reviewed, and the subparts of the regulations that will be apply to agricultural companies, the compliance dates for each type of companies as well  as the alternatives and exceptions that will apply with this law.

Meanwhile those who attended the conference were satisfied and culminated with a clearer knowledge of the new regulations for the agricultural sector.
